Raw rat meat is a Power Level 1 raw ingredient, which means it can be cooked at a campfire or grill into rat roast starting at Cooking level 1, and not burnt into burnt rat roast at level 12. It is dropped by giant rats in Temple Woods and Bramblemead Valley and vaults, rat kings in vaults, putrid rats and plague kings in the Whispering Swamp and the Bloodblight Swamp, and chinchompas in the Fractured Plains.

Smaller creatures have much less meat on their bones, making them a less-fulfilling meal. Hunters would subsist on these while stalking larger prey over several days. The Wild Knight, Ilom, was particularly fond of drying out these little morsels, treating them as a meaty little snack for boring patrols.
