The undead ranger's bow is a power level 5 shortbow that can be crafted at a fletching bench. The recipe is learned from a dragonkin effigy in Skekven Kara, the dragonkin vault in eastern Fellhollow. It can be ascended at the mystic forge using ascension cores.

Its special effect is listed as increased damage but reduced durability. The reduced durability works as this weapon has 1,050 compared to the willow shortbow's 1300, however it has the same damage, both listed and actual.

It fires faster but deals the same damage as the crystal bow, which also has shattershot. However, the wild scout's shortbow has 10% faster draw speed with only 1-5% lower damage, increasing with higher power levels, making it the ideal shortbow to ascend.

There was a villager in Emberwood called Holtz, who was a master with the bow. He could shoot rats from across a field and never scored less than a bullseye whenever he aimed for an archery target. Yet he had no desire for warfare, and no matter the words of encouragement from the captain, he would never join the guard. For him, archery was a passion, an art, never to be used against another person. A stance quickly forgotten by his shambling corpse.
