Dorgeshuun Crossbow

The dorgeshuun crossbow is a power level 5 crossbow that can be crafted at a fletching bench. The recipe is obtained from the quest Even More Restless Ghosts. It can be ascended at a mystic forge using ascension cores.

Its special effect is a hidden -25% Reload Duration, making it reload faster than other crossbows. It also can only fire bone bolts, which can similarly only be fired from this crossbow. Unlike other crossbows and bolts that split the damage between them, all of it is on the crossbow. This is to ensure that the weapon ascends correctly, and isn't forced to use weaker bolts than other crossbows. The bone bolts additionally build bleed, and with three hits in a short time, deal 40 damage. This damage does not scale with power level.

Excluding the bleed damage from the bone bolts, this weapon has the same base damage, reload speed, and durability as the blurite crossbow at similar power levels. With that in mind, the choice comes down to what bolts are desired, particularly enchanted bolts, as the difference is entirely down to their effects. Currently, there are no enchanted adamant bolts, therefore this weapon and its bone bolts take the cake at power level 7. The shadow crossbow is a notable mention as it can squeeze more damage out of enchanted bolts with +15% weakpoint damage, but it does so far slower than this or the blurite crossbow.

The cave goblins are a practical sort, using materials more readily available underground than any that might require potential damage to their subterranean dwellings, such as mining. This crossbow is made from bones, traditionally of creatures found beneath the surface. Zanik once used this crossbow to defeat a deadly spectre in the underworld. A being infused with some dread malign power, that threatened the denizens of Um. Normal weapons had no effect on the creature, yet for some reason the bone bolts fired by this crossbow were enough to unravel its material form, banishing it back to the darkness.
