Lodestone

This article is about the active Lodestone. For the inactive Lodestone, see Lodestone (Inactive).

A lodestone is a platform that allows the player to travel if another lodestone is placed elsewhere. When the first lodestone is built, the inactive lodestone in the Temple starting area becomes active as well. Teleporting between two lodestones costs a varied amount of law runes, depending on the distance of the target lodestone and the weight of the player.

Teleportation costs

Teleporting between two lodestones costs an amount of law runes based on the distance between them and the amount of weight carried, with a minimum cost of one law rune. Note that the number shown on the lodestone map is calculated by the following:

Lawrunes=(Distancetotargetlodestone÷1000)×(Totalweight÷1000)

For example, teleporting 8000 meters (the length of 2000 square tiles) while weighing 400 kilograms would require 8×0.4=3.2 law runes which rounds to 3.[confirmation needed]

Update history

This information is based on the changelogs of the game.

  • Fixed an issue where Lodestone teleports placed on the edges of the map could only be used one-way as they would fail to be displayed on the map.
update19 May 2026 (0.11.2):
  • Teleportation now costs less law runes to travel across the map from the furthest edge of Fellhollow to the Temple Woods.
update4 April 2026 (0.11.0.7):
  • Fixed an issue affecting the fixed-location Lodestone that is found in Dowdun Reach Approach.
update8 July 2025 (0.8.1):

Trivia

  • Unlike RuneScape's (RS3) lodestone network, which requires no runes to activate or use, the lodestones of Ashenfall demand the use of law runes to function.
    • In RuneScape, players can teleport to any unlocked lodestone from anywhere in the world, although at a slower pace compared to traditional teleportation spells. In RuneScape: Dragonwilds, however, players must physically interact with a lodestone to teleport to another.
