There are several options for the storage of items outside of the player's inventory.

The Construction skill allows the player to create several objects that can be used to store items:

Crate	Up to 16 item stacks.	Yes	Available from level 1 Construction.
Ash chest	Up to 32 item stacks.	Yes	Buildable from level 16 Construction and receiving ash logs.
Oak chest	Up to 48 item stacks.	Yes	Accessible from receiving oak logs for the first time.
Iron chest	Up to 64 item stacks.	Yes	Accessible from receiving an iron bar for the first time.
Personal Chest	Up to 12 item stacks.	Yes	Has a spell of the same name that can be used to access item storage.
Lumber storage	Up to 48 wood items.	Yes	Only stores logs and planks - including blightwood.
Ore & stone storage	Up to 48 ores, bars and stone items.	Yes	Only stores ores, bars and ston - including tar, dragon tooth.
Armour mannequin	Up to 5 armour pieces.	Yes	Only stores armour pieces - including necklaces, capes, and rings.
Weapon rack	Up to 6 weapon items.	Yes	Only stores weapons - including torches.
Fishing barrel	Up to 48 fish	Yes	Can only store raw fish.
Tackle box	48 Fishing item slots	Yes	Can store fishing nets, rods, and/or several types of bait.
Cape rack	Only one cape per rack.	Yes	Only stores capes.
Cape hook	Only one cape per rack.	Yes	Only stores capes.
Chest	Cannot store player items.	No	Can be found within dragonkin vaults and throughout Ashenfall.
