The dragonbane cape is a special cape whose recipe is awarded to those who completed all 4 weekly challenges (with the final challenge being to kill Velgar) during the closed Alpha Test. This cape requires no materials to craft.

The cape can only be crafted and worn by those with the Alpha Challenge Cape DLC installed. The code to the DLC was distributed by email to those who completed all the weekly challenges during the alpha.

The following text is transcribed from the Journal.

A seer once dreamed about brave warriors who walked across Ashenfall in another time. An age both past and present, where the rules of the world were different. These great heroes challenged and slew an echo of Velgar, saving a land that never was. While the seer’s memory of that dream fades with each passing moment, she was able to embroider the event into a cape, so that all might know of these legends from another time.
