Toktz-xil-ak is a power level 7 melee weapon that can be unlocked by studying the shattered black blade (Umbral Sands) dropped by KotHaar-Kals with a 2/100 drop rate. It can be ascended at the mystic forge using ascension cores.

Its special effect is a 2% increased critical strike chance, but a 25% decreased durability when compared to other adamant tier gear. Most other weapons that have an increased chance to crit like the Skullsplitter or dragonbone dagger increase the chance by 15%, so 2% is underwhelming.

That being said, this weapon has the same damage range as the wooden training sword and the black sword, and higher durability than the wooden training sword but lower than the black sword. The black sword therefore wins out when fighting mages, but even the adamant sword with 400 more durability might be considered over this sword for something like the Fight Caves as long as the benefit is only a mere 2% crit chance increase.

A blade forged from obsidian, in the heart of a great volcano. The KotHaar of Ashenfall are ancient beings, whose existence dates back millennia ago to when the elder gods first created the region. At the end of their lives, they would take themselves on long pilgrimages through underground tunnels, back to the mainland, where they would be reborn anew in the Elder Kiln. Fuzan put a stop to that, by destroying those tunnels.
