Bow of Elidinis

weapon

Bow of Elidinis

The bow of Elidinis is a power level 7 masterwork longbow that can be crafted at a fletching bench. The recipe is received as a reward for completing the Mapping The Sands II quest. It can be ascended at the mystic forge using ascension cores.

Its first special effect is Blessing of Elidinis, which makes arrows also deal water magic damage in addition to ranged damage. Kills with water magic have a chance to drop water orbs that provide some health and a little hydration when picked up. Its special action is Lunar Rain, which costs 6 stamina and deals water magic damage over the targeted area for a short time. This is considered a Magic attack rather than a Ranged one, providing Magic XP and benefitting from the lesser magic potion and 3/3 magic armour's set effect increasing the chance of getting critical strikes instead of Ranged XP and weakpoint modifiers. However, its other special effect is Purity of the Moon, which is supposed to prevent the use of barbed, poisoned, and fire arrows when using this bow. However, this does not work, and all of those arrows can be fired from this weapon.

Similar to the zombie axe, when using normal, barbed, or poisoned arrows, this weapon deals both ranged and water damage simultaneously. Unlike most other damage modifiers, this damage is additive, which means that attacking an enemy weak to one but resistant to the other will result in more damage done than expected, but less than an enemy neither weak nor resistant to either. However, when using fire arrows, the water damage is replaced with fire. When comparing this bow to the hunter stagbow against KotHaar specifically, it deals slightly more, but the stagbow fires slightly faster. Therefore, when not using Astral Rain, in all other situations, the hunter stagbow is the ideal longbow to ascend.

Journal

The following text is transcribed from the Journal.

She is known by many names, both here and in the deserts entire oceans apart from one another, yet to all of them she is a source of life and creation. She is the river in the desert sands, from which all civilisation blooms, and she is the rain that washes away the cruel and merciless when the monsoon season comes. To the Moon Garou, she is the River Mother, the Moon Maiden, and their salvation. For it was she, who helped the wandering garou to step away from their primal predatory nature, and tame the sands, cultivating crops and building cities. She left the deserts centuries ago, to places unknown. Some say she wanders the stars in search of a place where her grief can be lessened. While others claim she prepares for war against a more insidious foe. A creature of fire, ash and hatred, the demon of the sun. This bow was left to one of her favourite Moon Garou, a warrior called Kyter, whom she raised as her own after he was orphaned by a cruel sandstorm. The bow was passed down his family line, parent to child, until the last of the bloodline was murdered by Fuzan. Now, the bow is yours. Use it wisely, for she will surely be annoyed if you don't.
