The following text is transcribed from the Journal.

The last hunter in Fellhollow hid in the trees for as long as he could. Beneath him the dead shambled and stumbled and clawed at the bark, yet he remained in the trees safely out of reach.

He fed himself on nuts and berries, stealing form[sic] the treasure troves of squirrels and birds, occasionally risking a trip to the ground to hunt a passing animal. He gave up on cooking the meat he hunted, as he could not stay on the ground long enough before the dead rose up to face him, so he tore into the carcasses of deer, sheep and[sic] rats, trying his best not to vomit.

He barely noticed when his appetite changed, since he was so used raw[sic] flesh and the sickly cold taste of blood pooling in his mouth. So, when the withering began to take him, he hardly noticed.

Sometimes, if you’re quick enough, you may catch a glimpse of a skeleton in the tree branches. Even in death he fears the monsters on the ground.
