Cleric PvE Guide

article

Overview

The Cleric is AION 2's primary healer and support class. PvE combines party healing, mitigation, cleansing, resurrection/emergency recovery, offensive party buffs, debuffs, and ranged magical damage.

Modern Cleric is more versatile than a traditional healbot. After 2026 reworks, Bolt and Divine Aura gained PvE damage, while Prayer of Amplification became a much stronger offensive cooldown. August 12 cut most major heals by ~20–50% healing while extending range 25m → 40m.

Playstyle: Prevent damage → maintain party HP → cleanse dangerous effects → buff the group → DPS during safe windows.

Strengths

  • Best dedicated party sustain
  • Strong emergency tools (Healing Light, Radiant Recovery, Absolution, Benevolence)
  • Defensive + offensive party utility
  • Meaningful ranged DPS in low-heal windows
  • Scales from both healing and offensive progression

Weaknesses

  • August healing nerf — spam-heal cannot cover every mistake
  • Cooldown management is mandatory
  • Greedy DPS can miss healing windows
  • Group positioning still matters for party-wide effects

Current Cleric PvE Meta

  • 1. Healing efficiency — keep the party up with minimal overheal
  • 2. Support — defensive/offensive buffs and Debilitating Mark
  • 3. DPS downtime — convert safe moments into damage

PvE Priority & Rotation

Healing requirement > emergency mechanics > party buffs/debuffs > DPS

A Cleric with +10% personal DPS who lets the tank die contributes less than a near-zero DPS Cleric with perfect healing uptime.

Healing priority when several are injured

  1. 1. Tank in danger
  2. 2. Mechanic target about to take unavoidable damage
  3. 3. Multiple injured → Absolution / Benevolence / AoE recovery
  4. 4. Single-target → Healing Light / Radiant Recovery
  5. 5. Chip damage → don't blow major CDs; let HoTs/cheaper heals work

Sustained healing cycle

Use the smallest appropriate heal for the damage taken — especially after the August nerf.

Burst support window

Safe DPS priority

  • Buff/debuff → Bolt → Divine Aura → filler
  • Never sacrifice healing uptime to finish a DPS cycle

Boss fight habits

  • Before major AoE: position, Light of Regeneration, defensive support, Salvation if required
  • During damage: Absolution / Benevolence / Radiant Recovery / Healing Light by event size
  • After damage: stabilize — don't dump every remaining heal; preserve emergency CDs

Cleric + Chanter: Light of Protection cannot stack with the Chanter's Indomitable Chant (community name; higher-level effect wins). Coordinate support instead of double-pressing on cooldown. See also Chanter.

Stats, Stones, Arcana & Gear

Pure healer

  1. Attack Power / Healing scaling
  2. → HP
  3. → Defensive stats
  4. → Cooldown / skill efficiency
  5. → Critical

Support / DPS Cleric

  1. Attack Power
  2. → Critical
  3. → Critical Damage (Earth's Grace)
  4. → PvE Damage Amplification
  5. → Accuracy
  6. → HP
Why Attack Power matters more: Healing Enhancement now scales heal amp from Attack Power (26% → 30% → 34%). Offense and healing progression are no longer fully separate.

Magic Stones

  • Healer: Attack Power · HP · defense · healing bonuses · Accuracy if needed
  • Support/DPS: Attack · Crit · Crit Damage · PvE amp · Accuracy
  • Hybrid stones are usually best for normal dungeons

Arcana / Daevanion: Healer — AP / heal bonuses → HP → defense → utility. Support/DPS — Crit → Crit Damage → Attack → PvE amp → Accuracy → HP. Don't chase Combat Power alone.

Stigma concept

  • Healer: Healing > Emergency Recovery > Support > Defense > DPS
  • Support/DPS: Support Buffs > DPS > Healing > Defense
  • Hard progression: avoid fully DPS-oriented Stigma boards

Gear progression

  • Early: weapon · Attack Power · HP · basic healing · defense
  • Mid: AP · heal scaling · Crit · Crit Damage · Stigma · Arcana · Daevanion
  • End: Weapon → core gear → Abyss → accessories → Arcana → Daevanion → Seal

Abyss (Sep 9 PvE amp table): Decanus 15/20; Centurion 15/20/25; Tribunus 20/25/30/35; High Commander 25/30/35/40; Praetorian Captain 30/35/40/45 (2/5/8/12 where applicable). DPS Clerics value high tiers; pure healers should not sacrifice survivability/heal efficiency for amp alone.

Seal (Sep 9): Weapon Fixing Damage / Armor Defense / Amplify Weapon Damage steps 1–5 (20/40/100 → 100/200/500). Tied to Anguish Snowfield Sanctuary.

Common Mistakes

  • Overhealing — 95→100% with an expensive CD is wasted
  • Salvation too early — not for ordinary chip damage
  • Ignoring Debilitating Mark — heal-only play leaves group DPS on the table
  • Forgetting Prayer of Amplification — 60s CD is a major party buff
  • DPS during dangerous mechanics — stop and heal
  • HP-only gear — Attack Power now feeds Healing Enhancement
  • Copying pre-August heal builds — 40m range, much lower raw heal

TL;DR

Three layers: (1) keep the party alive · (2) maintain Debilitating Mark + support · (3) convert safe downtime into DPS with Prayer of Amplification, Bolt, and Divine Aura.

August healing rework is the biggest shift vs old guides: 40m heals with much lower raw output, Healing Enhancement scales from Attack Power — build hybrid support/healer; pure heal for the hardest progression.
